Seed Cafe
One Utama Shopping Centre (New Wing)
Type of Food: Asian + Western
Introducing Seed Cafe, a lifestyle restaurant by the established Malaysian brand Seed. Seed is a local clothing company with designs targeted at young working adults. The interior is rather plain, but offers comfortable private spaces for every table. The restaurant does not display their clothes for sale, as their clothing outlet or their 'lifestyle outlet' is located in other parts of the shopping centre.
The cafe has a couch outside, either for customers who wish to eat there or for those who are put on the waiting list. During our visit, there were ample spaces available, suggesting its new establishment that requires more time before it becomes more well known. Huge competition surrounds the cafe as well, which includes Fridays, Daves and possibly Burger King?
The menu here is something like what DOME has to offer, but at a cheaper (but not cheap) price. Serving Asian and Western style food, they also have set menus i.e. Thai, Malaysian, Pasta and Western priced at rather affordable price (RM 16 which includes a drink).
Personally, I rather see it as a restaurant itself rather than a branch of this 'lifestyle clothings' cafe. The food served here is not too bad, with the size of the portions just right. Although such lifestyle restaurants have not hit Malaysians hard (like what happened to Zang Toi Cafe I think), this cafe seems to be doing quire well. Perhaps it's the type of food and fashion that catches the taste and preferences of the same age group i.e. the young adults.
The judges: Kailin and Fuichin
Scary wei Kailin
Fuichin thought that the reflection made us looked like we're covered by a blanket. I thought that it was like we're in a pool or something hehe... kinky
Final Verdict: Not too bad a CAFE!
