Gosh What A Long Update!

Yes… It’s been waaaaay tooo long since I’ve updated my blog… seriously… so let’s just do everything from Chinese New Year in one article ok? Haha… (Breathes in… increase pyruvate production and conversion to acetyl CoA) Here goes…

This year’s CNY not so productive, ang pau load not that much (my classmates would go haiya in Malaysian ringgit not worth it) but it’s the thought that counts (no I’m not in denial). Would like to thank my parents too for allowing me to go back to Singapore by plane! Thanks mum and dad love you guys!

Wah after coming back from Chinese New Year hols loaded with numerous tests! Bio Lecture Test on Ecology and Evolution (the double Es…), Bio SPA (Science Practical Assessment for the non-Singaporeans’ knowledge) and Econs Lecture Test! Wah lau eh! And can you believe that I was studying National Income Accounting during the 1st and 2nd Day of CNY? Oh my god it’s like never ending ‘excitement’!
FEBRUARY HIGHLIGHTS IN SINGAPORE! (Besides Chin Gay Parade)

On the Monday (14th February) the hostel decided to have candlelight dinner for the boarders. WTF? My roommate and I started laughing our ass out when we heard the announcement!

“We will be having candlelight dinner in the canteen tomorrow evening, sitting with your friends or loved ones enjoying the romantic evening while listening to the soothing music”

Hello… it’s not ROMANTIC when it is IN THE CANTEEN! And it’s just one fucking IKEA CANDLE in the middle of THE TABLE!

(Laughs while writing this entry)

But the hostel is nice enough to spice things up, just not spicy enough… anyhow I wasn’t in the mood to celebrate Valentines Day in the canteen (yup I think you know why) so we (Brit, CL, Adrian and John) decided to go to KFC for dinner:

‘Five guys eating KFC for dinner on Valentines Day’

(Laughs again) How sad can that be?

Oh then there's my college’s annual road run… 5km for guys and 3.6km for girls. Everyone thinks that I’m prepared to get into the top 100… but actually I wasn’t mentally prepared for it. Yes no doubt I’ve ran 10km before and my class is a sports class… and even though I run twice a week (once during PE and once on my own – the other PE saved for swimming) I don’t think I can do it at all… but still positive thoughts!

Here’s the route for the guys.

I started off pretty all right, then accidentally tripping on something (not feeling the pain until the next morning), panting at Upper East Coast Road, and trying to survive at Bedok South Avenue. By the time I reached back the school I was praying hard that my adrenaline hormones would help me overcome my lactate accumulation (sorry for all the bio guys) but that didn’t work out either… So I settled with 105th placing… not bad la I would say at least I came in second among the guys in my class…

Ah... we started here... and trying to end it was a tiring one! Posted by Hello

Oh Kenny had dengue… poor guy he was detected before Chinese New Year itself! Previously he had chicken pox as well… haih so he missed a lot of classes! Glad you’re better now Kenny! The class planned to visit him after the road run, but I had to go to the Singapore Post Head Office to collect a parcel Jolene sent me… apparently it got broken along the way… you should know which side to blame (Malaysia or Singapore an obvious pick)

A Valentines Day Card Jolene sent me. Thanks Hon That's more than enough!! Posted by Hello

Haih I feel so guilty as Jo spent soooo much time on the gifts when I just bought her flowers... Sorry I'm such a bad boyfriend dear I promise I will make it up to yah!

Then there's National Vertical Marathon (something like KL Towerthon)… I took part without knowing that it would be on the same week as the road run… in fact I found out about Road Run’s date just a day before CNY! How blur was I??

It was a real mental game… the height was only 280m… half of a track and 51 storeys high.

That's Temasek Towers... Gosh how was I suppose to climb that!?!? Posted by Hello

Eileen... she won 9th in the women's category! She's sort of our group leader in the vertical marathon! Posted by Hello

You know what I haven't introduced the team! From L-R: Shanta, Me, Wei Jian, Yong Quan and Eileen! Posted by Hello

The staircase was really humid; probably due to all the participants sweating… we took part in the JC category, competing as a group. Before that Eileen took part in the women’s category and she got 9th! Yeah congrats! There were two other teams from my school. Miss Ang (PE Teacher) and Mr Lim (My kayak tutor) came by to support us!

Each of us started off the same pace, but at the 20th plus floor we started feeling fatigue… I reached the roof top at 12ish minutes I think…

But when we finally reached the top, the feeling was indescribable… You could see the whole East Coast of Singapore! Too bad we weren’t allowed to bring any cameras up… or not would’ve taken a pic or two! I could even see my hostel from the roof!

When we came down we had a plan to pretend that the climb was really horrendous (there were still teams who haven’t climb the tower). So Eileen acted like she sprained her ankle while we supported her out of the exit. Everyone was staring! Haha… but we kept laughing that it didn’t work in the end… Oh Well

MARCH

Great Justin invited me to come back to Malaysia to go to Genting for ZoukFest. Sorry pal can’t do so had many things coming up! Hope you guys had the time of your life there!

On March 5 (Saturday) , our college did Flag Day for the Saint Andrew’s Community Hospital. My class was assigned at Tiong Bahru Plaza – Wahlau that’s like in the centre of Singapore while our college was at the East! Our gang (nicknamed Sexy ang Gang) hop on to Shanta’s Dad’s Wira so that he could drop us at Bugis – giving us a lead from the rest of the class and hopefully other students from our college and other schools (you see, many schools take part in the same Flag Day on the same day… so competition is HIGH! And you have to donate or not the whole Singapore would be asking you to! Haha). Unfortunately, other teams caught up with us as we grew complacent (Sounds like Amazing Race huh? Too bad got no yield!)

It was horrible asking people for donation, now I know how those people I rejected feel like (actually I know but I still could not be bothered how bitchy). Here were a few funny responses from the people my friends and I asked:

Ol’ Lady gives her the money and then said angrily: Why did you take my money!?!?

One bimbo bitch walked by and saw the Flag Day sticker (you’re suppose to wear it to show others that you’ve donated so we won’t bother you anymore) and asked: “What’s this?” and took two stickers, one for her and one for another bimbo next to her.

One ex-Temasek JC student saw me and said: “I will support TJC (my college in short form).” Then he looks at his girlfriend (who from my guess was not from TJC): “You don’t support TJC one ah? Why don’t you?!?”

One husband walk-by and said: “Are you serious?!? Ok you look honest to me…”

After getting rid 2 of 5 of my stickers (I was tempted to finish all 5 sheets of them = 250 stickers to be more precise), The gang called me for lunch at Tiong Bahru Market. Ok la not bad the food there.

The plan was suppose to be after the Flag Day we went to US and Canada Education Fair. But Shanta suggested that we went to Career Fair first, not a bad idea so whatever.

The fair wasn’t that bad, many representatives – got Monash University and Nottingham University Malaysia campus too! Haha… and I pretend don’t know anything go there and act curious…

There was a row of Study In China booths too… Yuck! But I also pretended to be curious at the study in Germany, Italy and France booths. Haha…

By the time we were done, it was so late for the other two fairs (Thanks to the unplanned shopping trip) that we decided to call it off. Had tea by the Fountain of Wealth (Shanta you owe me the pictures!) and then Shanta dad came to pick us up. He dropped me at Marine Parade, where I went to repair my Gucci glasses (it broke while I was dancing… yeah I know it was stupid of me to train with expensive glasses)…

As usual Britney was so angry at me for ‘leaving him behind’ and forced me to go to Orchard to watch movie with him. I thought hmm I could go to Orchard, but to surf instead of watching movie. So off I went to Orchard with my laptop only to find out that all the baristas charge for surfing… Sheesh… so what to do, I pretended to surf while sipping my coffee haha!

That's all I have to update for now... more Coming Soon!!
