Starbucks Plaza Mont Kiara
Type of FNB: Coffee, Tea, Aftermeal mouth itchy snacks

Starbucks, as everyone knows, comes from the States and sells coffee. Already an established coffee chain outlet in the Klang Valley and possibly the Peninsular, Starbucks is spreading its wings as fast as possible in competing with rival The Coffee Bean and probably Oldtown Kopitiam!

Starbucks might be available almost everywhere in the Klang Valley, every outlet has its own uniqueness, be it customer services, the surrounding area and the interior. Here the ghetto crew paid a visit to the Starbucks in Plaza Mont Kiara recently to sip a cuppa Mocha Frappucino and Ice Macchiato.

Plaza Mont Kiara is located in Mont Kiara (duh). Its residents come from the upper upper middle class society of either locals or foreigners. There are, in fact many Caucaseans and Japanese residing in this area.

Mont Kiara, as the name suggest, is situated on a hill. So the weather is relatively cooling and at times breezy at night. Hence, al-fresco is a suitable idea even for the non-smokers.

The outlet faces a courtyard/open space, with high rise fountain as its backdrop. There are other specialty shops located nearby as well i.e. Secret Recipe, Haagen Daz and MacDonalds.

For your info: Plaza Mont Kiara also plays host to the annual KL Jazz Festival. During that season the courtyard/open space is supposedly (cause i've never been before) into a mini-stage and guests can either enjoy the performance from the food outlets or just bump around the floor.

The service here is as usual: Friendly and efficient. The only thing different is the type of crowd that patronises the outlet, the surroundings and the cooler environment (hence the absence of cooling fans which makes al-fresco a noisy experience). So if you just want to grab a cup of coffee, head to the nearest Starbucks near you. Or if you want to chillout with your friends and are bored of the cafes near you, why not head down to Plaza Mont Kiara's? Unless you are living in Mont Kiara that is.
